Fruit ”punch”!

Another wonderful recipe from Mrs Daniela Sorina Barbu of Ploiești (a creative lady, performing small miracles in her kitchen!).

It’s a wonderful smoothie (blender mix), decorated with different berries.


Basic mixture in blender:

  • pineapple
  • peaches
  • one lemon
  • a little ginger

The secret for the good taste of the mixture? Well ripen fruits (sweet-sour).
The mix will be poured in a big glass bowl and decorated with blackcurrant, cranberries, raspberries, pine kerns and mint leafs.

It’s a wonderful dish for guests or a small party.
The sour fruits mix makes this dish very rich in vitamin C and other anti-oxidants. It is a suitable dish AFTER a meal (even for people not having a detox diet).
The acid fruits will assist and help the digestion of other food items (and the blended mix makes it a very useful “digestive”).

As a rule – in the raw vegan diet – fruits will be eaten always BEFORE a meal (a salad or any other cooked meal) and never AFTER a meal (because they will induce bloating and gases).
This will be noticed for all alkaline and semi-acid fruits, especially eaten as such.

Acid fruit juices (oranges, grapefruits, lemons, pineapple, berries etc) could be taken whenever during the meal (before, during, afterward or instead of a meal). The same is for blend mixture having acid fruits as main ingredients.
Acid fruits could support digestion of cooked food and many time, they can be taken as desert without causing bloating or gases.

Each one can pay more attention to body’s own reactions!
